Pictured here is a recent class in the Pirate Program at the Pittsburgh VA Medical Center. This program is a 23 day intensive aphasia treatment program designed to eliminate barriers preventing community-dwelling Veterans from assessing intensive speech and language rehab services. Services are individually tailored to each participant that include one-on-one therapy sessions, group treatments, computer based learning activities and counseling services.
United Veterans Services has provided electronic slate boards (called "boogie boards") used in speech therapy - shown in the photo with a "Thanks" written by the class. United Veterans Services is proud to be able to say "Thank You" to all Veterans for their services.
