The first annual United Veterans Services (UVS ) Gala was held on Friday, April 24, 2015 from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the San Mateo Elks Lodge # 1112. The attendance which was larger than what was initially expected, was made up of UVS members, supporters from the community and antique dealers from the UVS Hillsborough Antique Show. Our special guest was Julie Gonzales who represented the Pacific Women's Golf Association which is the sister organization of UVS and was also founded by Helen Lengfeld. Everyone in attendance was delighted with the abundance of gourmet Hors d' Oeuvres which were served. 100% of the profits from this event will be used to support hospitalize veteran's projects that are conducted by UVS volunteers in VA Medical Centers across the United States. It is noted that UVS and the Gala Committee have no paid staff. All members of this organization are volunteers. UVS thanks and recognizes the San Mateo Elks Lodge # 1112 for their support and assistance to conduct this event. We look forward to a larger and more successful Gala next year.
